Meet Mrs. Sikler
Hi, my name is Mrs. Debbie Sikler. I am a graduate of Freedom High School and Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. For the past five years I have taught fourth grade at Marvine School in Bethlehem, Pa. Prior to this, I taught fifth grade for fourteen years, also at Marvine.
When I started my teaching career in 1978, I began as a first grade teacher at Governor Wolf School in Bethlehem. Since I held a minor degree in Spanish, I was transferred to Marvine School where the student population is predominately Hispanic.
Presently, I am involved in three after school programs at our school. The clubs are, Cheerleading, Newspaper Club, and Student Council. I enjoy being involved in extra curricular activities since it allows me to interact with the students in a different way. I have also been taking computer classes to keep up with the latest advances in technology.
A special honor came to me this year when I chosen to be included in the 1998 issue ofWho's Who Among America's Teachers. This honor is very special for me since I was nominated by a former student whom I had taught over 7 years ago. She wrote a special essay which was then chosen by the committee. This special recognition has made all my years of teaching at Marvine most worthwhile and memorable.
In my free time I enjoy doing crafts and shopping. I currently reside in Bethlehem Twp. with my husband John.
